Secondary Learning Support Assistant - SEN Department - Ilford – Full Time Term Time Only (ASAP & September Starts) – Up to £120 per day (Long Term Role, Temp to Perm)
Long Term Futures are recruiting a dedicated and proactive Secondary Learning Support Assistant to join a secondary school in Ilford, working within the SEN department to support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in SEN support or a strong interest in working with students who require additional support to access the curriculum. You will play a key role in helping pupils achieve both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small‑group support within the SEN department
* Support students with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties
* Assist pupils in lessons and during intervention sessions
* Work closely with teachers, SENCo and pastoral teams
* Help implement EHCP targets and support plans
* Promote engagement, independence and inclusion
Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Experience supporting students with SEN needs (desirable)
* Confidence working in a secondary school environment
* A patient, proactive and adaptable approach
* Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
* Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
* Background in education, youth work or care (desirable)
