We are looking to appoint a Midday Assistant to work at Norbury Hall Primary School. This is a very exciting time for our Trust as we grow.

Main Purpose of the Role
To supervise the children of primary school age, ensuring their safety, welfare, and
positive conduct during the lunchtime break (including playtime and while eating their
lunch).
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Supervision and Safety
Supervise pupils in the dining hall, classrooms, and playground, as well as on their way to and from these areas.
Be vigilant and report any hazards, suspicious individuals, or safety concerns
immediately to the Midday Supervisor or a member of the teaching staff.
Administer minor first aid (after appropriate training) and report all accidents
according to school policy.
Ensure that all exits and entrances used by pupils are monitored and secure
during the lunch break.
2. Pupil Welfare and Behaviour
Promote positive behaviour and adherence to the school behaviour policy.
Encourage pupils to play together cooperatively and constructively.
Assist pupils who may be upset, hurt, or lonely, offering comfort and directing them to the Midday Supervisor or relevant staff member if necessary.
Model play activities for the children and encourage them to participate in play
3. Dining Hall Duties
Assist pupils with dining arrangements, including queuing, carrying trays, and
opening food containers where necessary.
Promote good table manners and healthy eating.
Assist pupils to clear their plates and clean up any spills
Wipe down tables and clean up the dining area after the children have
finished eating to prepare for the next sitting or afternoon lessons.
4. Other Duties
Set up and tidy away play equipment as required.
Supervise the movement of children before and after the lunch break.
Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required by the Head Teacher.
All relevant training will be given and opportunities for further CPD is a priority within our trust.
