Full‑time, 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday with some evening and weekend work.
Salary Scale SCP: 18 – 23 (£31,537 – £34,434), plus an annual pay rise in accordance with NJC terms and conditions.
Plus Local Government Average Salary Pension Scheme.
Bridgwater Town Council is seeking a Democratic Services & Corporate Support Co‑ordinator to play a key role in supporting the Council’s democratic, governance and corporate functions.
Working within the Finance & Corporate Services Team, this varied role is central to the smooth running of Council services, ensuring effective governance, high‑quality meeting administration, strong information management and excellent internal and external customer service.
The role also provides office coordination, first‑line IT and digital support, and administrative assistance to councillors, officers and civic leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Administer and clerk Council and Committee meetings, including agendas, minutes, reports and action tracking.
* Coordinate office operations, digital systems and administrative processes.
* Provide first‑line IT support and digital induction for staff.
Key Qualifications
* Highly organised, accurate and confident in managing multiple priorities.
* An excellent communicator, able to draft clear minutes, reports and correspondence.
* Digitally confident, with strong Microsoft 365 skills and the ability to provide basic IT support.
