Are you passionate about supporting the wellbeing and learning of young people?GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Teaching Assistant to provide guidance, encouragement, and academic support to students in a local school based in Blandford Forum starting immediately.

About the Role:
As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students to provide one-to-one and group support, focusing on both emotional wellbeing and academic progress.
Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to students with mental health needs in classroom and pastoral settings.
Assist students in developing coping mechanisms, self-regulation, and confidence.
Work with teachers to adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
Encourage student engagement and participation in lessons and activities.
Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to students and staff.
Foster a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment.
Support students in building social skills and resilience to overcome challenges.
Maintain clear records and communicate effectively with staff and parents when necessary.
Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational or mental health setting is desirable but not mandatory.
A genuine passion for supporting mental health and wellbeing.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to remain calm, patient, and empathetic under pressure.
Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 in Childcare, Teaching Assistance, or a degree in Psychology/Education are desirable.
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices (training will be provided).
