Lead Quality Standards in a Global Manufacturing Setting - Senior Quality Control Manager

An opportunity has opened for an experienced Senior Quality Control Manager to join a leading global manufacturer in the prestige beauty sector. Based at their high-output facility in Hampshire, this site alone contributes to around 20% of the company's global product supply - a testament to the scale and impact of this role.

This position sits within an established and collaborative quality team, responsible for overseeing lab operations and ensuring compliance across raw materials, finished goods, and environmental standards. The company is known for its long-standing heritage in beauty and personal care, with a diverse product portfolio and a footprint spanning over 150 countries.

Your role as Senior Quality Control Manager

Lead the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced QC laboratory, ensuring that materials and products meet rigorous internal and external quality standards

Oversee testing workflows including sample analysis, outsourced testing, raw material qualification, and documentation reviews

Manage the review and approval of routine and non-routine test data, including microbiological assessments and release of goods via SAP/LIMS

Drive the lab's compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements, including internal audit readiness and documentation standards

Own the QC equipment strategy - from budgeting and procurement through to calibration and preventive maintenance oversight

Collaborate with key departments across the site (Manufacturing, QA, Planning) to identify and deliver process improvements

Investigate customer complaints, implement effective CAPAs, and track resolution timelines

Lead, coach, and develop a team of QC managers and lab staff, aligning objectives with broader site and quality strategies

Design and deliver training programmes to build technical capability and reinforce a quality-first culture

Experience and qualifications for the Senior Quality Control Manager role

A minimum of 8 years' leadership experience in quality control, ideally within the consumer goods, pharmaceutical, or cosmetics sectors

Strong background in analytical chemistry or microbiology, with demonstrable experience managing testing labs in a cGMP-compliant setting

Confident in handling regulatory audits and data integrity requirements (including FDA, HC, or other global agency standards)

Skilled in statistical data analysis and trend evaluation to support decision-making and drive improvements

Comfortable working with systems such as Microsoft Office, SAP, LIMS, and electronic QMS platforms

Proven ability to manage cross-functional relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
