Job Description
The Commercial Team Leader will lead and manage all Commercial Surveying / Estimating, Quotation Processing and Commercial Administration activity within the Key Account Network (KAN) function. This role supports our value proposition through performance management, maximising commercial opportunity on relative contracts, cost control, risk mitigation and supplier assurance/compliance.
Key Responsibilities
•To lead a multi-disciplined team and have the capability to:
•Perform in a high-volume environment on a day-to-day basis
•Gain full conceptual understanding of the roles purpose and processes and how they relate to the wider intentions of the Account Team and KAN operation
•Receive and correctly interpret Contract Documentation to maximise recovery, avoid costs and mitigate risk, including variations, and balance this with the Client’s / Account Team’s Requirements
•Appropriately challenge PO / Invoice activity on a commercial and technical basis
•Interrogate large data files - evaluate and provide high quality reports tailored to the client’s needs
•Confidently engage with relevant stakeholders to ensure that all SLA timescales are met
•Contribute to process development, innovate, deliver operational excellence and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
•Leading and supporting value enhancement opportunities eg. quote conversion % increase

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Qualifications:
•Minimum Degree-Level qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar Construction-related subject or similar Commercial Analysis/Evaluation type subject.
Experience:
•Minimum 1-3 years in a Commercial Surveying / Estimating type role, preferably including a period of team leadership
•Proven track record of operating in a high-volume-workload environment
•Ability to self-organise as well as prioritising team workload effectively
•Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
•Excellent relationship-building & influencing skills
•Results orientated with a strong focus on the achievement of targeted results
•The ability to communicate, work effectively and build relationships with all Stakeholders
•Detail oriented and deadline driven
•Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
•An understanding of accounting and financial concepts
•Must be flexible, adaptable and proactive
•Ability to lead & manage priorities and projects
•Ability to lead & manage client expectations and deliver customer-focused solutions
•Ability to appropriately prioritise and plan complex work for self and 3 x teams in a rapidly changing environment
