About Our Client
Our client is the UK's leading provider of engineering services and has enjoyed an exciting year of growth across the UK business. This position will be based at their Glasgow site and offers hybrid working, along with on-site parking.
Job Description
The successful candidate will likely have the following responsibilities:
3. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements
4. Ensure compliance with IFRS/local GAAP and internal reporting standards
5. Act as a key liaison with external auditors
6. Coordinate audit deliverables and ensure timely responses to audit queries
7. Develop and maintain group-level consolidated cash flow forecasts
8. Assist with the analysis of daily cash and working capital management
9. Analyse variances and provide insights to the senior management team
10. Lead the month-end close process for group reporting,
11. Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial results
12. Consolidate qualitative information from business units as a part of the preparation of the month end board packs
13. Assist with the consolidation of group budgets and forecasts
14. Compile and present financial information for board reporting
15. Support commentary and analysis for executive review
16. Reconcile intercompany balances across entities
17. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
18. Review and challenge balance sheet reconciliations
19. Ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accounting policies
20. Assist with internal audit reviews and follow-up actions
21. Provide documentation and process insights as required
22. Plan and deliver internal audits for business units, ensuring full compliance with HMRC/UK GAAP is uniform across the Group
23. Assess the suitability of current internal controls, making suggestions for improvement where needed
24. Support the transition to IFRS16 (Leases) across Group
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will likely have the following profile:
25. Qualified Accountant ICAS/ACCA/CIMA
26. Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities,
27. Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly in consolidations,
28. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines,
29. Experience supporting both internal and external audit processes,
30. Deadline driven and have worked in a busy office environment,
31. Excellent Excel skills,
32. Excellent attention to detail,
33. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
