Academics Bristol is looking for a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join the inclusive and nurturing team at a mainstream primary school in North Bristol (BS7). This is a rewarding opportunity to support children with special educational needs and disabilities, helping them to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will play a vital role in raising achievement, promoting independence, and ensuring every child feels valued and included.
Location: Bristol - BS7
Salary: £95 - £115 per day, depending on experience
Contract: Term time only, Monday to Friday
The Role
As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will:
Support individual pupils and small groups to access learning in line with their education plans.
Provide encouragement, guidance and feedback to promote progress and confidence.
Assist in preparing and organising classroom resources to create an effective learning environment.
Contribute to assessments by observing and recording pupil development.
Support pastoral care and wellbeing, including supervision at break and lunchtimes.
Provide personal and social support, including some aspects of medical or therapeutic care (following training).About You
We are looking for someone
With previous experience in a childcare, school or SEND setting.
Enthusiastic about motivating children and fostering positive attitudes to learning and behaviour.
