Join us as a Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapist at HCRG Care Group
We are seeking a qualified Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Intensive Rehabilitation Service supporting Pathway 2 discharges in the Salisbury area of South Wiltshire. This inpatient bed-based rehabilitation service provides patients with focused rehabilitation after hospital admission, helping them work towards their goals.
You will work within a multidisciplinary team alongside physiotherapists, assistant practitioners, rehabilitation support workers, care staff, and social workers to support patients in achieving their goals, aiming for either returning home or moving into another setting.
As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will support the Clinical Lead in leading the team, which includes Band 5 therapists, Assistant Practitioners, and Rehabilitation Support Workers. Your responsibilities will include supervision, appraisals, team development, and service improvement. Main Responsibilities
* Providing specialist Occupational Therapy services for inpatients
* Working within a multi-professional team
* Assessing, interpreting, planning, and implementing treatment and care for patients on the stroke pathway
* Reducing inpatient length of stay by promoting early discharge
* Applying a patient-centered approach
* Offering advice and support to teams
The Ideal Candidate
* BSc/BSc (Hons) or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
* Registered with HCPC
* Post-registration qualification in relevant clinical practice
* Delivering patient-focused care
* Experience in case management and multidisciplinary working
* Excellent inter-professional communication skills
* Recognition in teaching and assessing clinical practice
* Innovative, flexible approach to care and organization
* Evidence of ongoing professional development and experience
* Experience with diverse patient groups and complex discharge planning
* Ability to gather and interpret information to shape service development
* Proficiency in therapy skills, typing/data input skills, and manual handling
* Ability to communicate sensitively about emotional issues and support staff in these situations
* Leadership qualities to challenge and lead practice
