Overview
Electrical Engineer - Lighting & Energy Solutions at WSP. You will provide low voltage electrical design and consultancy services for nationally significant clients, supporting technical leads on complex engineering projects. The work is varied across public and private sector organisations and offers opportunities for international exposure.
Responsibilities
No two days will be the same, but you could be expected to:
* Support the design team lead on larger-scale projects, focusing on right-first-time outputs and identifying and mitigating risks to ensure designs are safe and compliant with CDM regulations.
* For smaller-scale projects, carry out a discipline lead role and be accountable for your discipline's resourcing and delivery, reporting any issues in a proactive and timely fashion.
* Contribute within project meetings and reviews to provide input related to your project responsibilities.
* Coordinate and communicate with other design teams and stakeholders across projects, including scope understanding, dependency management and clash detection workshops.
* Depending on your knowledge and experience, you may mentor and develop other technicians and engineers.
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
* A track record of performing high-standard low voltage electrical design, preferably within the UK transportation sector.
* Knowledge and experience of feasibility, design, installation, maintenance or technical assurance services within the UK EV infrastructure sector and/or wider UK transportation sector (road/rail).
* Willingness to develop and take responsibility for the technical output, programme and financial performance of your work packages.
* Evidence of being a confident communicator who can convey your point of view and keep stakeholders informed.
* Have, or be seeking, registration with the Engineering Council and active membership with a professional institution.
* Hold City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulation certification (C&G 2382).
* Experience with AutoCAD, Trimble Amtech ProDesign and Modecsoft ElectricalOM is beneficial but not essential.
