An opportunity to join a fast-growing team, working on both residential and commercial sites across the South of England, undertaking the cleaning of windows and frames using both hand-held, and long reach window-cleaning equipment.
The post is currently based in Portsmouth, Hampshire; but there is possibility of expansion to working through the South of England.
Work days will run approximately 6-10AM Monday to Friday, depending on the schedule. Saturday work is usually available depending on the needs of the business. Overtime is occasionally available, though may constitute unsociable hours.
This post is part-time and permanent, with a three-month trial period.
The post is paid based on hours worked, by direct bank transfer, a week in arrears on a Thursday. Wages are negotiable, based on experience and ability. A workplace pension is in operation.
Desirable qualities include physical fitness (the job demands this), good people skills, an ability to work using your own initiative, an understanding of Health and Safety at work and COSHH regulations, as well as being a good team-worker.
Previous experience of a similar role is desired but not mandatory, as on-site training is offered.
Basic English and Maths skills necessary as the role includes some paperwork.
A vehicle is not provided as you will mostly be working in one place to begin with, so you must be able to reach Portsmouth seafront by your own means. If the role grows, then there is a possibility a vehicle will be provided. As such, a full clean driving licence is desirable.
Preliminary interviews will take place over the phone, with a subsequent interview taking place at our office in central Portsmouth. The successful candidate will start on a mutually convenient date as soon as possible.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Cleaning of interior and exterior residential windows and screens
* Cleaning of interior and exterior commercial and retail windows
* Power washing brick, siding and concrete
* Gutter cleaning and leaf guard
* Working at ground level as well as using ladders to reach upper floor windows
* Using typical extension poles or water-fed extension pole and water purification systems
* Undertake daily routine safety and maintenance checks, including, but not limited to:
* Ensuring that vehicles, machinery and equipment used are well maintained
* Ensuring that vehicles, machinery and equipment used are kept clean
* Ensuring that vehicles, machinery and equipment used are not exposed to the risk of damage or loss/theft
* Recording checks of machinery, and noting any issues, if any, and passing those on to your supervisor in a timely manner
* Complete documents relating to the role of the post, including, but not limited to:
* Daily work sheets
* Vehicle/equipment reports
* Timesheets
* Work will involve working outside for up to 4.5 hours per day all year round. Work will take place in all weather including snow, and will only be suspended if conditions are unsafe or if it is detrimental to ground and/or plants to continue.
* Personal protective equipment will be provided and must be used.
* To undertake all duties in such a way as to enhance and protect the reputation and public profile of Willow Services (Southern) Ltd. and any associated residential management company.
* The post holder agrees not to disclose any confidential information obtained by holding the position to anyone, unless required to do so by law.
* Reporting immediately to the Line Manager any Health & Safety or maintenance issues.
* Any keys held by the post holder to residential and commercial properties will be governed by the following:
* The post holder shall not have any copies made from these keys nor distribute any alarm codes.
* The post holder shall not lend keys to anyone/nor share any alarm code for any reason, other than those related to the running of the company.
* On completion of their employment contact, the post holder will return any keys directly to their immediate line manager.
* The post holder understands that should any keys/alarm code be used by another individual that they are responsible for any and all damages, and understand that charges will be brought against them by Willow Services (Southern) Ltd. and any and all affiliated companies.
* The post holder will perform all duties in accordance with Council and Health & Safety at Work Regulations.
* Ensure effective communication with other members of the Team/Line Management.
* To undergo periodic training and development as and when required.
* To train others when the need arises.
* Maintain the orderly condition of all clients we provide service to.
