Group Maintenance Engineer

Full-time, Permanent
Monday-Thursday, 6am-4pm (four day week)
£37,440 -£41,600 per annum
A great opportunity for an experienced, hands‑on Maintenance Engineer to take ownership of site maintenance across two manufacturing operations. You'll be the go‑to person for keeping machinery, services and facilities safe, compliant and running smoothly. No direct team-this is an independent, practical role with contractor coordination as needed.
The Role:
Deliver and manage PPM schedules
Respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime
Oversee statutory inspections and close out actions
Maintain site services (HVAC, compressed air, building fabric, lighting, etc.)
Manage and supervise external contractors
Track maintenance costs and identify efficiency improvements
Provide occasional support to a nearby sister site
What You'll Need:
Hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment
Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills
PPM planning and execution experience
Confident working with contractors and enforcing safe systems of work
Solid understanding of Health & Safety
Basic IT/admin skills for logging work and maintaining records
Desirable:
Experience in coatings/textiles/laminating, statutory inspections, lean/CI, IOSH certificate.
