Enterprise Apps Analyst (6‑9 months FTC) – A&O Shearman
We have an exciting opportunity for an Enterprise Apps Analyst to join our IT Support Team, based in the A&O Shearman Belfast office. You will be part of the local 3rd line IT support team supporting the firm's Enterprise Applications. Our team provides 24x7 support for these applications and operates across 3 time zones: Belfast, Americas and APAC.
Responsibilities
* Support the firm's finance, business intake, customer relationship management, time capture, and other critical applications.
* Analyse system and application problems, risks and enhancements and report to management.
* Manage and monitor the call queue focusing on customer service, implement changes to application infrastructure and processes.
* Work with vendors and stakeholders in service reviews to improve resilience and eliminate risk and downtime.
* Remediate application and server security vulnerabilities for supported infrastructure.
* Recommend and suggest service resilience improvements through analysis and testing reviews.
* Alert, monitor and report regular and irregularities of application and database infrastructure, MS‑SQL and SQL replication on a daily basis.
* Troubleshoot end‑to‑end application and SQL infrastructure hosted in Azure AVS, Azure native and SaaS/cloud hosted products.
* Document, communicate and share changes and technical data with the team and wider IT department; represent on Change Advisory Board and Release Management.
* Coordinate and install Windows and application patches and updates during monthly/quarterly cycles and releases.
* Collaborate with other service support teams in I&O, including End‑User Compute, Systems, Networks and Information Security, and customers.
* Provide technical expertise on projects and to management when required.
* Join a weekly on‑call rota and out‑of‑hours support for business‑critical applications.
Required Skills and Experience
* 3rd support experience managing investigations, incidents, changes and problems for business software applications.
* Implementation experience on Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
* Experience creating, maintaining, monitoring and alerting Microsoft SQL Server databases, SQL replication and Always On Availability Groups.
* Ability to create, execute and maintain SQL scripts and reporting.
* Comfort working with cloud native and on‑premises datacentre services in Azure AVS and Azure native (SQL).
* Understanding of SaaS products and web languages (HTML/CSS).
* Analytics and planning of SQL and application updates through change and release processes.
* Proficiency in scripting automation (PowerShell, Bash, SQL).
* Aptitude to identify service and performance gaps and recommend solutions.
* Track record providing technical expertise in projects focusing on SQL databases and business‑critical applications.
* Experience analysing monitoring alerting configuration for SQL databases and application services for performance improvement.
* Strong reasoning and decision‑making skills to provide alternative solutions.
* Enthusiasm for troubleshooting and problem‑solving in a fast‑paced environment.
* System and application operational experience in a legal/CRM firm at a global scale.
* Support and knowledge of Power Platform and Dynamics 365.
* Experience in data analysis and reporting.
* Comprehensive understanding of Site Reliability Engineering concepts and framework.
