As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the growth and delivery of a wide-ranging portfolio that includes battery storage, solar and grid stability projects This is an ideal role for a junior candidate with transferable skills looking to build a career in a purpose-driven, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support project management activities across a diverse portfolio of energy development projects.
* Assist in preparing, submitting, and managing planning applications, including the discharge of planning conditions, working closely with external consultants.
* Help maintain detailed project schedules, risk registers, and budgets, and support internal project governance processes.
* Contribute to the assessment of new sites, grid applications, and connection maintenance.
* Undertake basic commercial modelling to assess project viability.
* Maintain project trackers and support general project administration.
* Collaborate with GIS and design teams to screen potential sites and contribute to optimal site layouts.
* Represent the company at workshops, industry forums, and working groups as needed.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Some understanding of the energy development lifecycle, particularly planning processes and land agreements.
* Financial awareness with the ability to support project budgeting and basic commercial assessments.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Project tools.
* Degree-educated in a relevant field (e.g., geography, environmental science, planning, or surveying), although other qualifications and experience will be considered.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
* Organised and proactive, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Willing to travel, with a valid UK driving licence and access to transport (occasional overnight stays may be required).
