Your day to day:
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Production Department Manager will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all activities and resources associated with the manufacture of high-quality products.
You will ensure production targets for output, quality, and efficiency are achieved while maintaining compliance with all relevant food safety and BRC standards.
Key Responsibilities include:
4. Delivering on KPIs across production, quality, waste, yield, and on-time delivery.
5. Leading daily production meetings, driving performance and accountability.
6. Motivating and developing a cross-functional team to achieve individual and departmental goals.
7. Ensuring all production and quality issues are promptly investigated and resolved.
8. Managing attendance, holidays, and performance appraisals within the production team.
9. Supporting and enforcing health, safety, hygiene, and allergen procedures.
10. Working closely with technical and operations teams to ensure audit readiness and compliance with BRC standards.
11. Implementing continuous improvement measures to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Your essential ingredients
The successful candidate will be a proactive, people-focused manager with a strong understanding of production processes and a proven track record in leading teams within a manufacturing setting.
12. Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory or managerial role within production.
13. Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
14. Proven ability to plan, organise and drive performance in a fast-moving environment.
15. Commercial awareness with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
16. Competent IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
