New Directions Education is seeking caring and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistants to support KS2 pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs in specialist and mainstream settings across Chester.
This is a highly rewarding role supporting children who need consistency, patience, and emotional regulation strategies to help them thrive.
Key Responsibilities
1. Providing 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs
2. Implementing behaviour-support strategies and personalised plans
3. Supporting learning within the KS2 curriculum
4. Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
5. Working closely with the SENCO, teachers, and external agencies
The Ideal Candidate
6. Experience supporting children with SEMH, autism, or behavioural needs
7. Calm, confident, and resilient under pressure
8. Ability to build rapport quickly
9. A passion for supporting vulnerable learners
10. Team-Teach or similar training beneficial (training can be provided)
