My client are looknig for an HGV mechanic to join their team
They have a repair and maintenance contract with Scania so you don't need to be a fully qualified HGV Technician
They want to look at decent engineers and mechanics who have worked on different types of vehicles and hydraulic & lifting systems.
They are happy to train the people up, so REME, Royal Engineers, Army/Big vehicle mechanics, Hydraulic Engineers, mechanical fitters, mechanical maintenance working on Pneumatic / hydraulics, plant engineers/fitters.
The shift usually runs from 6.30am-4.30pm (46.25hr week and anything after is x1.5)
Responsibilities:
 * The safe operation of mobile plant if trained and authorised to do so
 * Working to health and safety, environmental other standards as they apply to the process
 * Carrying out daily checks in accordance with company procedures and site working plan
 * Co-operate with site management
 * Maintaining Standard Operating Procedures as required
 * Keep site supervisor informed of any issues or concerns (relevant & timely);
 * Ensure lock off procedure are followed correctly
 * Be aware of own limitations
 * Attend training as and when required
 * Follow maintenance schedule for machine and maintain a high standard of the machine both inside and outside
 * Be aware of environmental factors and act accordingly – weather conditions, wind, noise, dust and litter.
 * Keep accurate daily records of work completed and consumables used
 * Maintain safe and clean working environment
 * Ensure that all work is to an acceptable standards without time wasting
 * Ensure high levels of housekeeping are upheld
 * Promote and ensure safe and clean working environment is maintained
 * Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times
 * Liaise and report to workshop manager
 * Complete daily job sheet – workshop system
 * Carry out major and minor repairs on vehicles, machines and affected components, including engines, brakes, steering, etc.
 * Use variety of specialist equipment and tools as trained and authorised to do so
 * Liaise with site management with regards to required repairs and part ordering
 * Liaise with suppliers, sourcing parts and comparing prices
