About our client: Frankie is 9 years old and lives at home with Mum, Dad, and his two younger sisters. Frankie is a real character; he is an engaging, sociable, happy, and determined chap who strives for his independence. He leads a busy life and has a long list of hobbies and interests. He loves playing games, story time, listening to music, watching the footie with Dad, going for walks, spending time with his friends…the list goes on, and on! Frankie has epilepsy and quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy, which affects his cognitive and physical abilities. He uses Eye Gaze Technology and PECs to support his communication. He is a wheelchair user and receives his fluid, nutrition (blended diet), and medication via a mini button PEG.
Overview of role: A dynamic role focused on holistic person-centered support, working alongside parents and health and social care professionals dedicated to overcoming challenges and providing Frankie with every opportunity and experience. The team supports Frankie at school, facilitating his access to learning/education and enabling him to participate in all school activities. The SEN Support Worker will also support Frankie at home, and in the community.
Who this job would suit: Working with young people will be your vocation. It is essential you are dedicated to and invested in Frankie’s development. You will be a bubbly, proactive, positive, and light-hearted SEN professional by nature. The key to winning Frankie over is to make him laugh and giggle (pretending to fall/trip, doing a silly dance, singing (badly!), or creating mischief). You must be confident and have a great sense of humour.
What’s great about this job: The opportunity to support Frankie and be part of his team is of course the best part of this role; Frankie is an amazing young man with huge potential.
