Fixed Term Contract: 18 months
Salary: £14.89 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: 5 days per week, shifts between 7:00am – 8:00pm
Role Overview
Reporting to the Business Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day front-of-house catering operation, leading a team of Ward Hosts to deliver an efficient, high-quality service to patients, visitors, and staff.
You’ll be a visible presence across the hospital, ensuring smooth service delivery, maintaining standards, and supporting both ward and kitchen teams to deliver an outstanding hospitality experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise the ward hospitality team, ensuring excellent service delivery
* Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of front‑of‑house operations
* Be visible across wards, supporting patients and staff and resolving any service issues
* Ensure all company policies, procedures, and quality standards are consistently met
* Work closely with kitchen teams to ensure timely service and minimise waste
* Manage staff rotas, including planning cover for holidays and sickness
* Maintain stock control and ensure correct rotation procedures are followed
* Ensure all food meets required standards of quality and presentation
* Complete and maintain all required documentation and audit records
* Train, support, and develop team members
* Lead or attend team and client meetings as requiredSupport ward service delivery where needed
* Report maintenance or operational issues promptly to management
* Carry out all reasonable requests in line with business needs

* Previous experience in a hospitality or supervisory role
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A customer‑focused mindset with a passion for service excellence
* Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and service standards
* Ability to work in a fast‑paced healthcare environment
Desirable
* Experience working within healthcare or hospital environments
* Food Hygiene certification
* Experience with rota planning and stock control
