Esland – Turning the Curve for Young People

Are you someone who believes every young person deserves the chance to thrive? At Esland, we provide trauma‑informed, therapeutic care for children aged 8 to 18, many of whom have encountered adverse childhood experiences and complex trauma. Our fantastic staff help them feel safe, understood, and able to build brighter futures.

Our solo home based in Morecambe, is seeking a full-time children’s support worker to complete our dedicated and highly valued team.



What You’ll Do

You’ll be part of a group of like-minded individuals, working in a role that truly makes a difference. Our staff are able to build nurturing, trusting relationships with our young people and act as their professional parents. Your duties will include:

* Supporting your young person with emotional regulation, daily routines, and personal development
* Keeping detailed records and promote safeguarding at all times
* Supporting your young person with fun activities, their personal interests, education access and engagement and household responsibilities
* A commitment to working 48-hour shifts, including sleep-ins (paid), followed by a 4 day break (we are a 365 service offering structured shifts, paid bank holidays and opportunities for overtime)

*Estimated salary based on an a pay rate of £13.45 to £13.75 per hour (days) and £60 per sleep night. Above pay rate comes into effect from April 2026.



What We Need from You

Experience within care, education, mental health support and/or youth activities is highly desirable, but we equally value transferrable skills and the right personality traits for the role.

What we definitely need:
* A full driving licence issued in the UK
* Applicants with full right to work in the UK with no restrictions
* Values in line with Esland's, such as taking a therapeutic, person-centred approach to childcare
* A calm, compassionate and resilient approach
* The ability to recognise the tough days matter just as much as the good days
Due to industry regulations, applicants must be aged 21 or above (essential)

With over 35 years of residential childcare experience, the Esland group now has more than 65 residential children’s and assessment homes, and five schools, that are spread across the Kent, Hertfordshire, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Wiltshire, Bedfordshire, Nottinghamshire, West Midlands and Northamptonshire regions of England.
This also includes our Esland online school accessible to children throughout the UK which helps to deliver education to children missing education by utilising our specialised Turning the Curve education programme.
With over 800 team members and over 200 young people supported we strive to help our children achieve their very best outcomes, through our bespoke residential care, education, therapeutic and activity-led wraparound services.
