Job Overview
We are working hard to ensure patients are at the heart of everything we do. We are on an exciting improvement journey and can offer a rewarding and supportive role providing a full range of diagnostic care within the Respiratory Diagnostic team.
Main Duties of the Job
* Appoint diagnostic outpatients from GP and Consultant referrals for appropriate investigations in order of clinical need.
* Maintain a waiting list of patients waiting for investigations who can’t be appointed straight away.
* Appoint extra clinics to help bring waiting times down to an acceptable level.
* Answer telephone queries and transfer calls to an appropriate member of staff if necessary.
* Undertake other clerical duties as required, appropriate to the grading.
* Cover reception when needed.
* Work within the constraints of the DATA Protection Act and attend all mandatory training as required.
* Attend all in-house training courses as required, enabling the delivery of new service developments/changes.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
* GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above (or equivalent)
* RSA stage III typing or proven keyboard skills. Microsoft office including excel and Powerpoint
Skills & Experience
* Accurate typing skills. IT skills using Microsoft software and excel. Ability to prioritise workload.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Planning and organisation skills.
* Diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality.
* Experience of working in a customer service environment.
* Basic understanding of follow up appointments.
