Job Title: Pre-school Practitioner (Part-time and Term time only)
Hours: 2 Days a week
Responsible to: Pre-school Manager and Pre-school Trustees.
Purpose of the job: To work as part of the Pre-school team under the direction of the Pre-school Manager to provide safe, high quality education and care for young children.
At Fetcham Pre-school safeguarding is paramount. This post requires a DBS check as there may be periods of unsupervised access to children. An Enhanced DBS and satisfactory references would be obtained prior to commencement of employment.

Desired criteria
1. Previous experience of working with young children
2. To hold or be working towards a full relevant Level 3 qualification or higher

Main duties
1. To plan for the EYFS curriculum – to include assisting with the preparation of material for each session as required.
2. To help set up the pre-school for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of the session.
3. To ensure pre-school policies, procedures and operational practices are adhered to at all times.
4. To act as a keyworker to a small group of children, liaising closely with parents and carers, ensuring each child's needs are recognised and met and that appropriate records of the child's attainment and progress are regularly maintained.
5. To advise the Pre-school Manager of any concerns regarding children, parents, or the safety of the equipment, maintaining confidentiality as necessary.
6. To motivate and engage the children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation.
7. To comply at all times with Pre-school policies and procedures, including health and safety, hygiene, inclusion and confidentiality.
8. To attend staff meetings and events as necessary.
9. To attend in-service training courses and meetings as required.
10. To keep confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff which is learned as part of the job.
11. To work as part of a team and to assist other members of that team as required.
