Our Building Services division provides complete Facilities Management of properties throughout the UK, delivering mechanical and electrical engineering support, cleaning, catering and grounds maintenance on a planned and reactive basis, using technological solutions to manage our teams efficiently.
What you’ll do
* Supervise a multidisciplinary team of engineers in delivering safe, efficient, and reliable facilities management engineering services through reactive maintenance, adherence to planned preventative maintenance schedules, and continuous improvement of building system performance and service standards.
* Manage client and building user expectations to achieve consistently high levels of customer satisfaction; maintain the client relationship on a daily basis.
* Ensure quality control of sub-contractor work via spot checks, audits and review of safety paperwork.
* Keep CAFM systems and site records up to date; report jobs to the helpdesk in line with Helpdesk requirements.
* Coordinate and take responsibility for all planned and reactive maintenance delivered by the engineering team for all equipment, plant, services and systems.
* Undertake required training and provide training, guidance, technical advice and support to the wider engineering team.
* Manage additional capital/reactive works; arrange sub-contractor attendance, provide detailed quotations, supervise work, and carry out quality control and final sign-off.
* Encourage positive interventions and attendance at H&S committee meetings.
* Ensure all AP duties are carried out and documentation available for audits.
* Take site/contract ownership on compliance activities and site documentation (L8 / Gas / Fire, etc.), asset management and PPMs.
* Represent BS at client meetings as directed by the line manager.
* Assist with the development of direct reports, including annual and mid-year PDR processes.
What you’ll bring to the role
* Essential: HNC or HND equivalent in an engineering discipline; time-served apprenticeship; IOSH H&S qualification.
* Desirable: Experience of building services in an education environment, including mechanical, electrical distribution and HVAC systems.
* Essential: Experience in a similar role; knowledge or previous experience of mobile technology for management of tasks; ability to manage and prioritise a demanding and varying workload; experience issuing planned and reactive works, client liaison and meetings with sub-contractors; excellent verbal and written communication with all levels of staff, customers and clients; sound knowledge of H&S legislation and COSHH/Confined Space/L8.
* Desirable: Experience with CAFM systems; experience of FM service delivery.
