Accounts Assistant (Part-Time)

We are a well-established specialist transport company, delivering commercial catering equipment, IT cabinets, and cash machines nationwide. We operate a large fleet of 3.5t–18t vehicles from multiple UK locations.
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our friendly team at our Cannock-based group accounts office. You will play a key role in supporting day-to-day finance operations.
Key Duties
1. Match delivery notes and check pricing against transport management system records
2. Input purchase invoices onto Xero
3. Resolve purchase ledger queries with suppliers and internal teams
4. Process staff expenses and credit card receipts
5. Reconcile supplier statements
6. Prepare supplier payment runs
7. Maintain approved supplier lists
8. Post bank transactions and reconcile bank accounts
9. Collate payroll information (hours, expenses, etc.)
10. Handle incoming financial queries from customers, suppliers, and internal staff
11. Maintain organised digital and paper filing systems
12. Provide general administrative support as required
Skills & Experience Required
13. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar Accounts Assistant role
14. Strong IT skills, including Outlook and Excel
15. Experience with Xero is desirable (training can be provided)
16. Excellent attention to detail
17. Strong organisational and communication skills
18. Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks independently
Package
19. £14.10 – £14.62 per hour
(Equivalent to £27,500 – £28,500 FTE)
20. 5.6 weeks holiday (including bank holidays, pro rata)
