The Old House 1147 is a premium country pub with rooms, located in the historic village of Llangynwyd. We are a busy, fast paced restaurant and wedding venue, passionate about serving the best local Welsh produce and providing the best possible experience for our guests and wedding couples.
We are now recruiting for a passionate Deputy Front of House Manager who can confidently deliver exceptional service to our guests, and support the Front of House Manager and General Manager in the daily operations of the restaurant, bar and events. The successful applicant will aim to exceed our customer's expectations with their warm and engaging management style and will lead and inspire the front of house team in delivering an outstanding guest experience. Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role is crucial in our selection process.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for;
* Collectively supporting the management group, particularly the Front of House Manager and General Manager in restaurant and events operation, including the development of people, sales, and profit.
* Motivating and inspiring the team through a positive attitude and a genuine passion for hospitality.
* Supervising the restaurant and bar in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
* Meeting and greeting customers, organising table reservations, and offering advice about menu and wine choices.
* Driving sales by ensuring guest satisfaction and implementing a high level of guest service.
* Assisting the Front of House Manager with organising and scheduling staff shifts
* Assisting the Front of House Manager in recruiting, training, and motivating staff.
* Responding to customer queries and complaints in the absence of the Front of House Manager
* Maximising profits by controlling labour costs in the absence of the Manager.
* Communicating daily with the kitchen team
* Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene and health and safety.
* Preparing cash drawers and end of day till reports.
* Liaising with the kitchen team before carrying out pre-service briefings with staff regarding daily specials, customer requirements and table arrangements, in the absence of the Front of House Manager.
* Overseeing the setup, service, and shut down on wedding days.
* Liaising with couples, suppliers, musicians and kitchen team on a wedding day to ensure event timelines run smoothly.
