Job Description:
My client is a successful and fast-growing data intelligence and security risk management tech company.
They are embarking on an innovative strategy integrating tech solutions with their strong data analytical capabilities, and are looking to hire a Software Team Lead to spearhead this strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead and drive the design of robust, scalable, and secure backend systems
* Ensure proper integration with front-end solutions
* Develop and maintain a deep understanding of all systems and languages, striving to become an authority
* Identify technical risks early and provide pragmatic solutions
* Review and give feedback on technical designs, requirements, and documentation
* Promote best practices in software engineering, focusing on code quality, CI/CD, documentation, and data governance
* Collaborate with Data Science and Intelligence teams to set development priorities and roadmap
This role will initially manage two engineers, with plans to expand alongside the growing delivery team of five.
As this is a new role, it will involve hands-on work initially to establish architecture and implement new tools, frameworks, and platforms.
Required experience includes:
* Team leadership in both technical delivery and people management
* Responsibility for architecture and technical solutions
* Strategic project planning and execution aligning with company goals
* Extensive hands-on software engineering, especially with Python, Databricks, AWS, Azure
* Experience in data analytics or data intelligence organizations is preferred
* Designing, building, and supporting cloud infrastructure
* Understanding cloud networking concepts and patterns
* Knowledge of info and data security
* Experience with container orchestration systems and workload management
This is a hybrid role based in central London.
Important: You must have SC clearance or be eligible for it.
