Position Overview The Consortium for Battery Innovation (CBI) and the International Lead Association (ILA) are seeking a skilled and dynamic Communications Officer to support the delivery of both organisations’ internal and external communications strategies. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful campaigns, digital content creation, industry engagement, and event support, while promoting the essential work of both organisations globally. The ideal candidate will possess at least three years of professional experience in communications, digital media, public relations, or a related field. We are looking for a creative, innovative, and outgoing communicator with strong writing skills, digital fluency, and excellent interpersonal and networking abilities. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the Communications and Digital Directors to plan and implement comprehensive communications strategies. Research, write, and edit high-quality content for websites, newsletters, printed publications, and various social media platforms. Create engaging and visually appealing materials—including infographics, blogs, and feature articles—highlighting CBI and ILA projects and member initiatives. Support strategic communication campaigns that enhance the profile and reputation of the lead and lead battery industries. Contribute to positioning CBI and ILA as authoritative voices supporting economic growth, technological innovation, and environmental stewardship. Support efforts to improve industry perceptions among key stakeholders and target audiences. Assist with the production and development of digital assets and promotional materials. Promote the organizations through participation in conferences, events, and other relevant forums. Develop communication materials related to government-funded and strategic initiatives, particularly in Europe and the United States. Collaborate with partner associations on joint campaign activities and shared objectives. Note: The role will require occasional travel within Europe. Qualifications and Experience Essential: A degree, equivalent qualification, or experience in communications, public relations, digital media, journalism, or a related field. Demonstrable excellence in written communication, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and engaging content. Experience creating content for digital platforms and channels (e.g., websites, apps, social media, etc.) Strong digital communication skills, including social media content creation and campaign management. Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills. Highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Strong administrative and IT proficiency. Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels. Fluency in English (spoken and written). Ability to thrive in a social and collaborative work environment. Comfortable with travelling abroad Desirable: Proficiency (or willingness) to use AI tools. Interest in digital trends and technologies. Proficiency in graphic design tools and software. Skills in video editing and animation.
