Role: Advanced Nurse Practitioner / Advanced Clinical Practitioner - Minor Injuries and Illness Unit
Location: The Wilmslow Hospital, Cheshire
Hours: Full-time 37.5hrs pw (Currently unit is open 8-8 Mon-Fri but this will be extended to weekends )
Permanent Contract

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or ACP to join our Minor Injuries and Illness Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to work autonomously within a fast-paced, patient-focused service, delivering high-quality care to patients presenting with a wide range of minor injuries and acute illnesses.
Key Responsibilities
1. Independently assess, diagnose and manage patients with minor injuries and illnesses
2. Prescribe medications and request and interpret Xray’s, investigations within scope of practice
3. Provide definitive treatment, advice, and safe discharge or referral planning
4. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including GPs and emergency care services
5. Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and mentorship to colleagues
6. Contribute to audit, service improvement, and quality initiatives
7. Ensure patient safety, safeguarding, and evidence-based care
Person Specification
8. Registered healthcare professional (NMC)
9. Qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Practitioner with MSc-level education or equivalent
10. Paediatric and adult experience
11. Independent Non-Medical Prescriber
12. Previous experience in a Minor Injuries or Urgent Treatment Centre
13. Significant experience in urgent, emergency, or primary care settings
14. Proven ability to practice autonomously and make complex clinical decisions
15. Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
16. Advanced Life Support (ALS) qualification
17. Experience in quality improvement or service development work
