A meticulous and proactive Financial Accountant is sought to take ownership of the financial accounting and payroll function within a multinational group operating across Africa. This role involves full-function accounting, financial reporting, statutory compliance, audit preparation, and supporting ERP implementation across multiple regions. The ideal candidate is systems-savvy, detail-oriented, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Minimum requirements:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related
2. Professional certification (SAIPA/SAICA/ACCA/CIMA) advantageous
3. 5+ years of full-function accounting experience in a group or multinational environment
4. Solid understanding of VAT, Tax, and statutory reporting requirements
5. Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Acumatica preferred)
6. Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with multiple currencies
7. Strong communication skills and ability to support cross-border teams
Key Responsibilities
8. Manage and process financial transactions across all entities using Acumatica ERP
9. Reconcile credit card statements, creditors, and intercompany loan accounts
10. Prepare VAT, Tax, and statutory returns for timely submission
11. Maintain accurate invoicing for recoveries, management fees, and debtors
12. Identify and report ERP deficiencies; support regional finance teams with ERP queries
13. Assist with standardising and updating Chart of Accounts across entities
14. Draft and implement finance SOPs and policies tailored per country
15. Participate in bi-annual financial reviews and support consolidated reporting
16. Track CAPEX and project spend against approved budgets
17. Support costing initiatives and standardise group financial templates
18. Prepare and review monthly management accounts in both local currency and USD
19. Analyse month-to-month variances and ensure transactional accuracy
20. Assist in group annual budgeting, including template creation, training, and reviews
21. Lead international and consolidated audit preparations; serve as key audit contact
22. Review Annual Financial Statements and ensure final TB reconciliation accuracy
23. Conduct financial health checks, prepare quarterly forecasts, and monitor risks
24. Manage international cash flow and ensure accurate financial analysis
25. Review and align financial agreements and compliance across multiple regions
