Established in 1886, Jenks & Cattell Engineering has a long-standing reputation as one of the most established metalwork engineering companies in the UK. From manufacturing garden tools nearly 150 years ago to producing headlamp rims for the original 1959 Mini, we have built a proud heritage.
We are offering an apprenticeship with the following responsibilities:
1. Assist in the service & repair of press tools and robot welding fixtures.
2. Work under the supervision of highly skilled toolmakers to learn to safely operate lathes, milling machines, radial drillers & surface grinders.
3. Use precision measuring instruments like micrometres, gauges, and CMM machines.
4. Implement tooling improvements.
5. Complete tool reports and manage the ordering of spare parts.
6. Interface with the new production tooling manager on tooling projects.
7. Comply with quality and environmental standards, procedures, and instructions.
The apprenticeship follows the Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.
Working hours are Monday - Thursday, 7.30am - 4.00pm, and Friday 7.30am - 12.00pm midday.
