Overview
Carlisle Healthcare PCN is a 2-practice PCN comprising Carlisle Healthcare and Spencer Street Surgery with a population of around 54,000 patients. We are recruiting a newly qualified GP who is within two years of completing their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). The postholder must not have had a substantive role in the practice at the time of application. The successful candidate will undertake a variety of duties across both practices within the PCN and the visiting team, including face-to-face consultations, phone consultations, triage, home visits to housebound and care home patients, and associated paperwork (labs, prescriptions, and correspondence).
Main duties of the job
* Deliver GP services across both practices in the PCN, which may involve in-house surgeries, home visits, and liaison with the PCN Visiting team.
Salary and terms
* Salary: £214.27 per session, 6 sessions per week
* Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities
* Work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams to provide medical services to the PCN population under GMS and PCN contracts
* Adhere to GMC guidance and maintain collaborative working relationships with the multi-disciplinary team
* UK travel across the network and flexible working to meet business needs
* Perform autonomous professional practice with other health care professionals to assess, diagnose and treat primary care patients
* Provide patient care across practice sites and PCN visiting team; perform surgeries or home visits as required
* Record clear, contemporaneous consultation notes; issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions within formulary guidance
Confidentiality and governance
* Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with practice policies and data protection principles
* Use EMIS Web and SNOMED codes accurately; maintain accurate data and participate in audits
Training, feedback and development
* Attend mandatory induction and participate in training/events as organised by the PCN or network
* Participate in clinical and network practice meetings; support training of other roles where appropriate
* Develop an up-to-date personal development plan and professional portfolio for performance review and revalidation
Person specification
* Essential: Newly qualified GP (CCT within 2 years) with full GMC registration and license to practice; experience in GP training practice using EMIS Web; ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team; excellent communication and IT skills; ability to manage time and prioritise; commitment to evidence-based practice and confidentiality.
* Desirable: Experience in triage; knowledge of Quality and Outcomes Framework; familiarity with public health issues in the local area; awareness of health-promoting strategies.
