Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site CNC Programmer Setter Operator role based in Rotherham. The role involves programming CNC machines from technical drawings and specifications to produce precision components to required tolerances. Day‑to‑day tasks include setting and operating CNC milling or machining centers, selecting appropriate tooling, and optimizing cutting parameters for efficiency and quality. The CNC Programmer Setter Operator will carry out first‑off and in‑process inspections, make necessary program or offset adjustments, and complete production documentation as needed. The role also includes maintaining a safe and organized work area, performing basic machine maintenance, and collaborating with supervisors, engineers, and quality staff to resolve machining issues and improve processes.
Qualifications
* Strong CNC Programming and Programming skills to create, modify, and optimize machining programs from technical data.
* Machining and Milling experience to set, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines producing precision components.
* Technical Drawing skills to read, interpret, and work accurately from engineering drawings and specifications.
* Experience with precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and basic quality inspection procedures.
* Prior experience as a CNC programmer, setter, or operator in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Ability to work safely, follow standard operating procedures, and maintain an organized workstation.
* Good problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in machining, manufacturing engineering, or a related field is desirable.
