Waiting List Coordinator
Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Waiting List Coordinator to join the team, to actively assist the department in the efficient and effective management of the outpatient/inpatient waiting lists in line with both national and local standards. Working alongside the Scheduler, you will work with another Waiting List Coordinator who will look after a group of consultant's clinic/theatre lists. You will be responsible for ensuring clinic and theatre lists are fully utilised and waiting lists are well managed in order of clinical priority. Training can be provided on the surgical bookings processes if you don’t already have experience in this.
Responsibilities
* Administer the department's outpatient/inpatient waiting lists with accuracy and attention to detail.
* Robustly manage a PTL against local and national waiting times and work to meet Dermatology Key Performance Indicators.
* Use appropriate booking processes to facilitate patient admission, adding, removing, appointing and suspending patients on the waiting lists.
* Lead on building new clinics and amending existing clinics in Lorenzo to include cancellations and reopening clinics in line with department capacity; liaise with consultants to provide extra clinic capacity to meet local and national targets.
* Manage consultant and junior doctor annual leave requests and escalate issues to the Operational Manager as needed.
* Manage review lists for follow-up patients requiring further investigations or follow up, ensuring completion within the time specified by the medical and nursing teams.
Qualifications and skills
* Good organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
* Strong communication with medical, nursing and admin colleagues; patient-centered approach.
* Knowledge of Lorenzo (advantage) including creating new clinics, cancelling clinics due to leave, and booking patients from access plans; training can be provided if needed.
