Technical Services Manager

Hours: Monday to Friday
Salary: Up to £65,000 plus 10% bonus
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager to lead Hard FM service delivery at a brand-new, state-of-the-art head office in Kingston for a market-leading global FMCG organisation.
This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) and Building & Civil Engineering (B&CE) services, ensuring all planned and reactive maintenance activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in full compliance with statutory, contractual and client requirements.
You will lead the on-site engineering team and maintain operational control of specialist subcontractors, ensuring technical services support a safe, reliable and high-performing workplace environment. The role also acts as the key operational interface between engineering teams, client stakeholders and project teams.
Responsibilities
* Technical Leadership & Service Delivery
o Lead and oversee the delivery of Hard FM services, ensuring operational excellence across mechanical, electrical and building engineering systems.
o Maintain full oversight of critical equipment, plant and building systems to maximise operational availability.
o Ensure all engineering activities comply with statutory regulations, client requirements and internal engineering standards.
o Maintain and update engineering procedures, risk assessments and operating standards.
* Operational Management
o Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities delivered by the engineering team and subcontractors.
o Ensure safe working practices are maintained through effective use of Safe Systems of Work, RAMS and LOTO procedures.
o Act as part of the escalation response process during technical emergencies, including occasional out-of-hours support where required.
o Lead technical investigations and implement improvements where necessary.
* Team Leadership
o Provide leadership, support and direction to the on-site team of electrical, mechanical and fabric technicians.
o Prioritise resources and manage workloads to meet operational demands and service level agreements.
o Set and maintain high professional and safety standards across the engineering team.
o Deputise for the FM Account Lead when required.
* Client & Stakeholder Management
o Build strong relationships with the client and internal stakeholders.
o Manage client expectations and ensure clear, timely communication on operational matters.
o Act as the operational interface for both client-led and Sodexo-led projects, including contractor and cost management.
o Provide technical advice on operational matters affecting OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
About You
Essential Experience & Qualifications
* Engineering qualification at NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
* Strong knowledge of engineering compliance, statutory regulations and best practice.
* Proven experience delivering planned and reactive maintenance in a Hard FM environment.
* Demonstrated experience managing engineering teams and subcontractors.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability, particularly in high-pressure situations.
* Experience ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards and safe systems of work.
* IOSH Managing Safely (minimum).
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
* Desirable
* Experience managing technical services within incorporated or high-end commercial environments.
* Strong understanding of commercial contract management and P&L awareness.
* Experience working within Total Facilities Management (TFM) contracts.
