Project Manager - Defence

Summary:
The Defence Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex defence projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing diverse stakeholder relationships, and maintaining strict adherence to compliance and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:

Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining scope, objectives, deliverables, resources, budget, and timelines.

Lead all phases of the project life cycle, from initiation through planning, execution, and monitoring to successful completion.
Stakeholder Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
*
Ensure clear communication and alignment with stakeholders throughout the project.
Risk Management:
*
Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks.
*
Develop and implement risk management plans and contingency strategies.
*
Continuously monitor and report on risks, issues, and mitigation efforts.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:

Ensure all projects adhere to regulatory, quality, and safety standards.
*
Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to guarantee that deliverables meet the highest standards.
Budget and Resource Management:

Oversee project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial objectives are achieved.

Allocate and manage resources effectively, optimizing utilization and ensuring project efficiency.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

Monitor project performance using appropriate tools and methodologies.

Provide regular updates on project progress, status, and key performance metrics to stakeholders.

Conduct project reviews and generate detailed reports for executive management.
Qualifications:
Education:
*
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
*
A minimum of 5-7 years of project management experience, ideally within the defence industry or closely related sectors.
*
Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex defence projects from inception to completion.
*
Extensive experience with regulatory compliance specific to the defence sector.
Certifications:

Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies:

Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of effective team management.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Proficient in project management software, such as MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent tools.

Superior problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Deep understanding of defence industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

Security Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for the project
