Senior Electrical Engineer - SME – Technical Lead – EMEA – Based in various countries for periods of time.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically-minded engineering enthusiast to join a small, specialist engineering team, particularly within Data Centre or critical environments.
Ideal candidates will come from a similar sector, be electrically biased with Senior HV Authorised or high Voltage authorised status, and have experience in high-pressure engineering environments. They should be capable, driven, and willing to support onsite and across EMEA, with travel and staying away being essential.
The Position
The Senior Electrical Engineer supports the Electrical Engineering Manager and SME team by providing electrical engineering services and guidance on electrical systems, ensuring correct operation within Data Centre specifications.
Responsibilities and Tasks
* Optimising electrical systems for efficiency, resiliency, and reliability.
* Reviewing and signing off critical switching and complex RAMS for electrical work.
* Completing HV/LV switching, HV SAP duties, supporting AP appointments, and managing Authorised Persons.
* Validating electrical SOP/EOPs.
* Supporting incident reports with technical information.
* Assisting in drafting specifications for new builds and electrical projects.
* Reviewing contractor documentation and nominating sub-contractors.
* Organising electrical training for critical/shifts engineers and supervisors.
* Leading electrical elements during commissioning of upgrades and new builds, and signing off systems.
* Owning key electrical issues and ensuring updates in the ticketing system.
* Ensuring compliance with electrical health & safety policies.
* Performing any other duties relevant to the role.
Professional Skills and Qualifications
* City and Guilds Electrical Installation Parts 1 & 2 (or equivalent)
* Inspection and Testing City and Guilds 2391 (or equivalent)
* 18th Edition BS7671 Wiring Regulation
* High Voltage Electrical Switching Operations Training
* First Aid Training
* HNC/HND Electrical Engineering (preferable)
* Working towards professional registration (C-eng, IEng, EngTec)
* Experience in Critical Environments/Data Centres (preferable)
* Previous HV/LV AP/SAP experience with complex switching programs
* Good knowledge of switchgear and equipment
* Proficient in IT tools like Excel, Word, PowerPoint
* Strong communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration
