Electrical Electronic Engineer
Lockheed Martin is seeking an Electrical / Electronic Engineering Contractor for a 12‑month contract on‑site in Ampthill, Bedfordshire. The role reports to the Design Team Lead and involves UK classified programmes; candidate must be willing to obtain SC clearance.
Responsibilities
* Provide guidance and governance for the team in integrating LRU deliverables, supporting assembly and installation as needed.
* Define processes, specifications, and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical/electronic hardware.
* Provide technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
* Facilitate the development of functional and physical design requirements to ensure a complete integrated design architecture.
* Design and develop electrical/electronic circuitry, including analog, digital, microprocessor, and FPGA design techniques.
* Perform schematic capture and PCB layout.
* Analyse, test, and evaluate electronic/electrical circuits and components.
* Conduct electronic circuit simulation and analysis.
* Engage in UK classified programmes requiring SC clearance.
Required skills, qualifications and experience
* Formal Electronic qualification such as HNC/HND/BEng.
* Experience in Electronics Hardware Design & Product Development.
* Proven experience in Digital and Analog Electronics Design.
* Experience with Windchill or other Product Lifecycle Management tools.
* Proven Experience with Schematic Capture, PCB Layout (Altium Designer) and IPC awareness.
* EMC Awareness at product and PCB level.
* Ability to support and manage aspects of Assembly, Integration and Test.
* Ability to produce technical documentation (trade studies, requirements documentation, compliance evidence and test documentation).
* Strong team player with good written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to coordinate various stakeholders into a unified approach.
* Self‑managing, driven, and organised.
* Flexibility in tasks undertaken.
Desired skills, qualifications and experience
* Experience using DOORS for requirements capture.
* Proven Hardware Sell Off experience through qualification and verification.
* Preparation of FMEAs.
* Awareness of IEC61508.
* Experience with 28V power distribution systems.
