JOB TITLE: Audit Manager in Economic Crime SALARY: £72,700 - £80,700 LOCATION: Edinburgh and Bristol HOURS: Full-time, 35 hours per week WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of your time, at our Edinburgh or Bristol office About this opportunity As an Audit Manager you'll contribute to the delivery of high-quality audits. You'll lead audits, or elements of large audits, in accordance with the agreed plan, with relative autonomy, using a strong understanding of business strategy, controls and risks to provide high quality independent assurance on the effectiveness of controls. You'll also act as a subject matter expert in Economic Crime, providing specialist insight across the team and supporting audit quality through your deep technical knowledge of financial crime risks. What you'll be doing: * Contributing to the audit plan, supporting the portfolio lead by project managing individual audits on their behalf. * Supporting control testing and identifying areas of concern, clearly articulating potential challenges. * Proactively suggesting and delivering improvements to current compliance processes. * Conducting research that considers multiple perspectives and brings the outside in to enable analysis of key themes and external trends. * Freely sharing insight and providing timely, direct, and effective feedback that contributes to delivery success and creates a positive, sustainable impact on the function. * Acting as a subject matter expert across Economic Crime, providing specialist advice during audits, supporting complex risk assessments, and supports the upskilling and development of colleagues through knowledge sharing and coaching. What we're looking for: * A subject matter expert in Economic Crime, with strong technical knowledge across areas such as AML, sanctions and fraud, gained within financial services, audit, or a related risk or compliance environment. * A trusted and experienced assurance practitioner who delivers high quality risk and control insights that shape decision making, influence senior colleagues, and enhance confidence in the control environment through credible, clear and impactful communication. * A digitally fluent audit professional with strong capability in data analytics and audit technology, demonstrating active curiosity about AI and emerging tools, and leading the practical application of these capabilities to drive smarter, more efficient and value adding assurance outcomes. * A strategic and commercially aware thinker who interprets Group and Business Unit strategy, connecting audit delivery, thematic insights and business monitoring to enterprise wide risks, opportunities and long term organisational objectives. * A strong communicator who exercises sound judgement to interpret complex data, distil root causes and implications, and deliver clear, outcomes focused audit conclusions that resonate with senior leaders and drive meaningful action. * A confident and pragmatic prioritiser who balances multiple complex audits, planning and adapting delivery at pace, ensuring outputs are timely, high quality and aligned to where assurance adds the greatest value.
