We operate hundreds of environmental monitoring stations requiring continual site maintenance. Roles include data checks using our online software and site visits to collect information about site condition.
Ensuring information in our asset management database (AIMS OM) is up-to-date and accurate helps keep sites operational and safe, and supports planning for future investment. The Environment Agency values inclusivity and flexible working arrangements to enable everyone to contribute and succeed.
Responsibilities
* Carry out data checks using our online software and visit sites to collect information about site condition.
* Ensure information in the asset management database is current and accurate to support safe operations and future planning.
* Work with colleagues across asset management, Area and National teams, and other functions as part of a nationwide community of practice.
* Respond to incidents as part of incident management requirements.
Experience/Qualifications
* Experience using databases and spreadsheets.
* Ability to collate and interpret different data sources accurately and efficiently.
* Ability to plan, track, gather and maintain data/information; work on own initiative or as part of a team.
* Good organisational skills and comfort with using systems and applications.
* Attention to detail, efficiency, persistence with tasks, and good communication skills.
* Able to develop and maintain good relationships.
* Full Driving Licence.
* Experience in asset management is an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.
* Role may be hybrid with a mix of home working and regular office attendance in Exeter, Launceston or Bodmin; travel to sites is expected.
Role specifics and other information
You will be part of a team reporting to the Water Land & Biodiversity Asset Management Team Leader in Devon and Cornwall, working with colleagues in asset management and other business functions. You will be part of a nationwide community of practice and may need to work with other teams to ensure information accuracy.
Respondents should be prepared to participate in a structured interview process using STAR techniques when answering competence questions. The role includes incident management responsibilities and access to a broad benefits package, including generous annual leave, a strong pension, flexible working arrangements and staff networks. Training will be provided where needed.
