Job Description

Who are we?

Clerkenwell Health is an innovative and leading Research Organisation specialising in the delivery of scientifically grounded Clinical Trials using its collaborative Contract Research Organisation, extensive Site Network and leading Therapy Development Programme. Clerkenwell Health specialises in supporting Mental Health and CNS research, with a focus on psychedelic drug development.

The Role

We’re looking for an Admin Manager to join our dynamic clinical operations team. This is a key leadership role overseeing all administrative aspects of clinical trial delivery across multiple Clerkenwell sites.

As Admin Manager, you’ll coordinate patient scheduling, site logistics, recruitment support, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the smooth and efficient running of Phase 1, 2, and 3 clinical studies. Your leadership will help maintain high standards of compliance, documentation, and patient care in line with ICH-GCP, MHRA, and Clerkenwell’s internal SOPs.

What will the role entail?

* Leading administrative operations and supporting study delivery across multiple clinical trial sites
* Managing patient scheduling systems, visit planning, and site capacity utilisation
* Providing line management, mentorship, and oversight to the Clinical Trial Administrator (CTA) team
* Overseeing patient reimbursements and collaborating with Finance on budget management
* Supporting therapists and site staff with diary management and study coordination
* Ensuring inspection-readiness of trial documentation and administrative trackers
* Coordinating patient recruitment processes, pre-screening, and communications
* Acting as deputy for the Site Manager/Director where needed and representing the admin function in sponsor meetings
* Supervising vendors, facilities support, supplies, and onboarding for new staff
* Leading audit preparation and supporting internal quality improvement initiatives
* Delivering training and supporting professional development for admin staff

What will you need to succeed?

* Proven experience managing and leading a team or department, ideally in a clinical or research setting
* Educated to at least GCSE/A level (or equivalent)
* Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICH-GCP, and clinical governance
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and database systems
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* A proactive, methodical, and team-oriented approach
* Demonstrated experience working with confidential data and GDPR compliance
* Ability to handle competing priorities with flexibility and professionalism
* A commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and compassionate patient care

Is this the role for you?

At Clerkenwell Health, our core values are Compassion, Collaboration, Innovation, and Integrity. If you're passionate about improving mental health outcomes through research and ready to lead administrative excellence in clinical trials—we’d love to hear from you!
