Our client is a wholly owned company of the Council, providing Environmental Operations which include Waste collection, Street cleaning, grounds and Park maintenance.
About the role
The position of Marketing & Communications Officer is to provide marketing support for all service areas in the company which includes Domestic waste, Commercial waste, Household Waste Recycling Centre, Ground Maintenance and Parks department. In this role you will raise the profile of the company through the development of marketing campaigns, website development and administration, social media promotion in all service areas, newsletters to staff and residents to promote ad Hoc and planned activities sharing good news stories.
About the responsibilities
In the role of Marketing & Communications Officer, your duties will be to:
* Develop, in consultation with Service Managers, a six-month marketing plan for the Company encompassing all service areas, identifying key marketing and promotion opportunities
* Develop communication materials such as web content, leaflets, newsletters, press releases and reports
* Be responsible for monitoring and updating of all social media platforms daily, working with officers to plan, create and schedule content
* Work with managers to develop innovative campaigns and marketing material for their service area
* Attend events on behalf of the service, engaging with members of the public to promote services
* Develop the new website which is currently in the planning phase
* Co-ordinate the social media channels with regards to good news stories for the different service areas
* Manage the website to ensure information is current and identify opportunities for improvement and development
* Produce reports from the website to service managers providing data of demand for service
About you
For the role of Marketing & Communications Officer our client is looking for someone who can bring their experience of social media and digital promotion to enhance their marketing activity and play a leading role in the success of their marketing campaigns. To be successful for the role of Marketing & Communications Officer you will have experience of / be:
* Level 3 in marketing, communications or similar
* Level 2 (GCSE Grade A-C) or equivalent qualification, including Functional Skills in English
* Understanding the importance of how to market income generating services
* Website and social media content administration
* Developing targeted marketing campaigns
* Self-motivated with the ability to work under own initiative
* Able to write engaging content aimed at identified audiences
* The ability to work as part of a team to develop promotional ideas
* Able to work to deadlines
* Developing marketing campaigns to promote services to targeted audiences
* Writing public facing information such as newsletters, website and social media content
* Website administration E
* Producing eye-catching marketing such as leaflets, website content, banners, vehicle graphics and promotional material
* Administering and engaging with public via online and social media platforms
* Excellent organisation and communication skills, both verbal and written
* Evidence of your experience of working in teams, on multiple projects and delivering to tight deadlines
Developing content will be big part of the role so you will need to be able to demonstrate an excellent flair for writing engaging content with a high standard of English and an eye for clever design.
About the hours & rewards
In the role of Marketing & Communications Officer, you will work Monday to Friday 39 hours per week and there is a salary on offer of £28,380 per annum.
