Job Description ROLE PURPOSE We are seeking a highly experienced RMMS Confirm specialist to take technical ownership of the Brightly Confirm application and ensure it supports CPS maintenance, asset management, operational delivery and National Highways requirements. This is a specialist individual contributor role, not a people management position. The post holder will act as the key technical and business facing expert for Confirm, working closely with asset leads, operational teams, the Digital Development Lead, Digital & Data, IT Operations and suppliers. The role will assess business requirements, align them with Confirm capability, support implementation planning and help shape a future proof roadmap for how Confirm is used across CPS. This includes understanding asset data from internal and external sources, supporting business critical integrations, improving data quality, strengthening user adoption and ensuring Confirm is positioned as a core part of the wider CPS digital and asset management landscape. The post holder will provide expert guidance on system configuration, workflow design, data governance, testing, release readiness, integration reliability, supplier engagement and continuous improvement. The role is the technical lead for the engineering approach to operating and supporting the Confirm Product as a live service, ensuring reliability, performance, resilience, and scalability. The post holder will define and embed best practice for application operations, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, problem management and service optimisation. The role will act as the senior technical authority for application operations, setting standards and guiding engineers, suppliers and support teams. Input into the technical roadmap and recommending future Confirm functionalities that align with strategic direction. INTERFACES Key internal and external stakeholders that the role interacts with INTERNAL: Asset leads, maintenance teams, inspectors, planners, performance teams, Digital & Data, Digital Development Lead, IT Operations, commercial teams, contract management, data governance, reporting teams and senior operational stakeholders. EXTERNAL: National Highways, Brightly vendor, contractors, integrators. ACCOUNTABILITIES Confirm Platform Ownership: Take technical ownership of the Brightly Confirm / RMMS platform, ensuring it remains stable, secure, well maintained and aligned to CPS operational, contractual and reporting requirements. Act as the internal subject matter expert for Confirm, providing clear guidance on system capability, configuration options, limitations, risks, dependencies and improvement opportunities. Ensure Confirm is managed as a business critical platform, with appropriate controls around configuration, access, releases, testing, support, documentation and service continuity. Business Requirements and Process Alignment: Work directly with asset leads, operational teams, planners, maintenance teams and business stakeholders, driving collaboration between stakeholders to understand requirements and assess how they should be delivered through Confirm. Translate business needs into practical system requirements, process designs, configuration changes, data requirements, reporting outputs and integration needs. Challenge and shape requirements where needed to ensure Confirm is used consistently, efficiently and in line with good asset management practice. Ensure business processes are aligned with Confirm capability, reducing unnecessary manual workarounds, duplicated data and disconnected ways of working. Confirm Roadmap and Future Direction: Work with the business, asset leads, the Digital Development Lead and Digital & Data teams to build and maintain a clear roadmap supporting Confirm implementation, optimisation and future improvement. Identify where Confirm should support future asset management, mobile working, reporting, data governance, National Highways requirements and wider CPS digital strategy. Assess opportunities to improve Confirm usage over time, including better workflow design, stronger asset data, improved reporting, reduced manual processing and more reliable integration with other systems. Support longer term thinking around where Confirm sits in the CPS application landscape and how it should connect with systems holding asset, inspection, maintenance and performance data. Asset Management and Data Governance Develop a strong understanding of CPS asset data, including how asset information is created, maintained, validated, migrated, consumed and reported across Confirm and connected systems. Work with asset leads and data teams to understand business critical asset data from internal and external sources. Support improvements to asset data quality, completeness, consistency and auditability across Confirm. Ensure Confirm data structures support operational delivery, contractual reporting, business intelligence, data lake use and future integration requirements. System Integration Management Work with developers, system owners, suppliers and technical teams to understand and support business critical integrations between Confirm and other platforms. Support integration planning and issue resolution across systems holding or consuming asset data, including systems such as KOREC, Astrid, Impulse, ISF, Ultimo, GIS platforms, Power BI, mobility solutions and data platforms. Help define integration requirements, data flows, ownership, validation rules, failure points, support processes and operational dependencies. Ensure integrations are reliable, auditable and aligned with business need, rather than being treated as isolated technical connections. Configuration and Workflow Design Lead the configuration and optimisation of Confirm modules, workflows, forms, templates, inspection processes, work order structures, asset hierarchies, reference data and reporting outputs. Tailor Confirm settings and workflows so the system supports CPS operational processes and future asset management needs. Ensure configuration changes are documented, controlled and assessed for operational, reporting, data, integration and security impacts. Application Support and Release Management Maintain and support the Confirm RMMS application, including troubleshooting, root cause investigation, issue triage, patching, release readiness and coordinated release management. Work with Brightly, IT Operations, Digital & Data, developers and business users to resolve complex issues and prevent recurring problems. Maintain a strong understanding of system performance, known issues, operational risks and critical dependencies. Testing and Quality Assurance: Identify testing needs and release readiness activity for Confirm changes, vendor updates, configuration changes, integrations and reporting impacts. Work with the Test manger to create test scripts, user acceptance testing, regression testing and release validation. Ensure changes are properly tested before they affect live operational users, business critical workflows, reporting outputs or connected systems. Work with the business to confirm whether changes are fit for purpose and ready for adoption. User Support, Training and Adoption: Provide expert technical support, coaching and structured training to Confirm users, including maintenance teams, inspectors, planners, asset leads, data analysts and management. Build strong relationships with the user community and create practical guidance that improves confidence, consistency and adoption. Identify where users are struggling with Confirm and work with the business to improve processes, training, configuration or support arrangements. User and Security Administration: Manage Confirm user roles, permissions, access controls, authentication arrangements and auditability. Ensure access is secure, proportionate and aligned to CPS policy, data protection expectations and operational requirements. Review access arrangements regularly and ensure system administration activity is properly controlled and documented. Stakeholder and Supplier Engagement: Work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, National Highways, Brightly and other suppliers to ensure Confirm supports strategic objectives and contractual obligations. Act as a key technical interface between the business, suppliers and technical teams, ensuring issues, enhancement requests, risks and operational priorities are clearly understood, challenged and progressed. Build trusted relationships across business, technical, supplier and customer groups. Continuous Improvement Leadership: Drive continuous improvement in how Confirm is used across CPS. Identify, recommend and support system, workflow and data enhancements that increase efficiency in maintenance planning, work scheduling, inspections, asset lifecycle management and operational reporting. Champion better use of Confirm as part of the wider CPS digital and data environment, with a focus on improved data quality, reduced manual effort, stronger integrations and better decision making.
