Working 36.5 hours per week (must be willing to work non-standard hours and participate in out of hours duty rota)
This post is within the Resilience & Operations team, within the Community Safety, Resilience & Prevent division. The purpose of this role is to support the Councils remit under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and other relevant legislation.
What You Will Do
* Preparation, maintenance, training and exercising of contingency plans
* Advising on business continuity to both internal and external clients
* Providing a 24/7 out of hours support to emergencies as part of a rota system
* Management of emergency incidents
* Working flexibly as part of a multi-disciplinary team
About You
Qualification: Diploma (or equivalent) in emergency planning, business continuity or related field and three years’ experience of working in an emergency planning environment OR a Degree in crisis management or a related discipline and two years’ experience of working in an emergency planning environment.
* Experience in Emergency Planning or Business Continuity Planning and a clear understanding of the related legislation and principals.
* Experience of working with people/stakeholders at all levels of seniority to deliver effective partnership working.
* An ability to deal calmly with crises by analysing problems and the confidence to make decisions both independently and collectively.
* Demonstrated ability to write reports and continuity plans.
* Strong organisational and administrative skills.
* Confident communicator with excellent presentation skills.
* Ability to prioritise and deliver under pressure
* Must possess a full driving license and have access to a car.
