Senior Physiotherapy Assistant

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Band 4 Senior Physiotherapy Assistant to join our friendly Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapy Outpatient Team at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The post is permanent full time position, however, job share and part time requests will be considered.
This post would be an excellent for an individual looking to further their knowledge and skills in the MSK field.We are looking for a team player who is a good communicator and you will need to be open, honest and compassionate andable to work alone and as part of a team. Commitment to patient care is paramount as you will be assisting them in achieving their maximum potential. An understanding of rehabilitation and as well as previous experience of working as a physiotherapy/therapy assistant is desirable.
Support and guidance will be provided from a team of friendly, experienced Physiotherapists, Advanced Practice Physiotherapists and Clinical Champions. There is an excellent IST programme and regular clinical supervision provided as well as career opportunities through a robust MSK Development and Competency Framework.
This post will be based in the Staffordshire Moorlands area. However, you will need to be flexible and able to travel to work in various locations to support the service especially with our exercise groups.
All references from current and previous employers will be sought and must cover a minimum of 3 years employment.
Main duties of the job
As part of your role in the MSK Service you will:
* Independently manage your own patient case load.
* Assess mobility issues and provide walking aids as well as assess post-operative Total Hip and Knee Replacement patients.
* Implement and progress treatment/ exercise programmes for patients in your care.
* Provide education and run our exercise groups.
* Work closely with other teams/agencies - involvement in addressing a range of support issues across MSK and pain conditions.
* Provide some administrative support to the team.
* Support service development and delivery of local and Trust wide projects.
* Participate in the IST programme and regular clinical supervision.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
* NVQ III or equivalent (B tech)
* Evidence of post qualification training relevant to clinical practice/ MSK
Experience
* Relevant assistant experience to the role including management of MSK/health conditions
* Ability to manage time and caseload effectively
* Supporting service users, families and carers in dealing with health conditions, pain and disability
* Previous experience of working in a community setting - preferably NHS
* Evidence of multi-disciplinary team working
* Previous experience of lone working
