About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Tooling Controller to manage the storage, tracking, maintenance, and movement of tooling and equipment across our warehouse and operational sites. This role plays a critical part in supporting day-to-day logistics, ensuring equipment is maintained, accurately recorded, and readily available for use.
Key Responsibilities
General Duties:
* Ensure equipment and tooling are correctly stored, labelled and located in appropriate place.
* Carrying out routine perpetual stock check and annual stock taking of equipment and tooling.
* Receipting goods in, checking quantities and serial numbers (where applicable).
* Picking and preparing equipment and tooling for despatch.
* Become familiar with warehouse inventory systems (Database), (SAP) and (MD365).
* Ensure all paperwork from receipts and despatches handled are passed to relevant person in co-ordination team.
* Use of lifting equipment / tooling with an understanding of PUWER regulations (training will be provided)
* Familiar with safe handling of hazardous materials and the COSHH (training will be provided)
* Develop and maintain positive relationship with customer personnel.
* Responsible at site for managing equipment and tooling (training will be provided)
* Load and unload delivery vehicles manually or using a forklift.
* Check the quality of incoming goods, identifying damaged or missing items.
* Organise stock and move goods using appropriate lifting gear.
* Maintain stock records using warehouse management systems.
* Operate forklifts to rearrange and safely store goods.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment.
* Drive company vehicles when required (must have a full clean driving licence).
* Other duties as required.
Required Skills & Experience
* Previous warehouse or tooling/equipment handling experience is preferred.
* Good communication, organisational, time management, and basic maths skills.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Proficient in computer systems, including MS Office and warehouse systems.
* Willingness to undergo essential training as required by the role.
* Flexible approach to work – must be available to support weekend outages and short-notice requirements.
Person Specification
* Education: Warehouse related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Good English speaker
* Computer knowledge and mastery of common software packages for office work
* Computer knowledge and fully conversant with common software packages for office work e.g. MS Office
* Knowledge/Skill: General knowledge of following areas is preferred.
o Fork Truck Licence (Counterbalance & Reach Truck/Stacker)
o PAT Testing (Preferable)
o First Aider (Preferable)
o Fire Marshall (Preferable)
o SAP/MD365 (Preferable)
