About the Role
You will be part of an international team at the center of Centrica Energy’s Physical Gas Trading desk. This role offers a unique opportunity to manage a portfolio of assets, execute prompt trading strategies, and influence broader strategic decisions within the Physical Gas team.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Trading the prompt on European gas markets using a mix of fundamental and technical strategies
* Trading and optimizing around our asset portfolio while contributing to the desk’s wider strategy
* Ensuring alignment of trading strategies across the value chain (development of trading strategies and ensuring prompt execution)
* Contributing to broader portfolio strategies in collaboration with originators, portfolio managers, shift and curve traders
* Participating in portfolio discussions and knowledge sharing across the trading floor
* Collaborating with Gas Analysts and Algo Trading Developers to build and refine fundamental and systematic trading strategies
About You
The ideal candidate brings experience in physical gas trading, a strong grasp of market fundamentals, and a results-driven approach. A collaborative mindset and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
* Proven experience gas trading on European natural gas markets, with strong knowledge of both physical and financial trading operations.
* Deep understanding of gas fundamentals, market participants, and trading products.
* Demonstrated success in developing and executing discretionary trading strategies with focus on the prompt.
* Strong analytical skills for interpreting market trends, news, and fundamentals.
* Commercially driven with a calculated risk-taking approach and high attention to detail.
* Collaborative and innovative mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement and team alignment.
