Responsibilities
* Book all appointments in line with NHS Plan targets and Patient Choice.
* Manage clinic capacity ensuring all vacant new patient slots are utilised within current protocols and maximum waiting times.
* Execute Service Manager requests for cancellation, reduction, reinstatement of clinics and reschedule patients around rotas, annual leave, and sickness.
* Prepare complex statistics and data for Service Managers using various computer software packages; supply reports on demand, activity, and specialty waiting times.
* Deal with all patient enquiries and problems.
* Manage the Outpatient review list and inform clinicians and Service Managers of any capacity issues.
Qualifications
* Education: O level/GCSE Standard (grades A–C), NVQ in Customer Care or Business Administration, or equivalent.
* Experience: Working in an outpatient department.
* Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with a wide range of people by telephone or face to face; self‑initiative; prioritisation; attention to detail; ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines; teamwork; flexible approach; pleasant personality and positive outlook.
