What is the job role?
As a Skilled Driver, you will be working as part of a team, you will support the maintenance and improvement of streets, neighbourhoods, parks, and open spaces by undertaking a range of street cleansing and grounds maintenance activities and ensuring all work is carried out under the appropriate Safe Systems of Work.
The main duty of this role involves driving and operating a mechanical Pavement Sweeper for which either a pre- driving licence or a class C entitlement is required. CPC is desirable; however, training will be provided for the right candidates.
Other duties will include the following; however, please read the Job Description & Person Specification for more details.
1. sweeping streets, emptying bins
2. litter picking areas
3. removal of dead animals and undesirable waste e.g. dog fouling
4. collection of flytipping
5. small-scale graffiti removal
All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.

The successful candidate will:
6. be reliable and committed
7. have a professional attitude and be willing to take on the tasks and duties within the remit of the role and service area
8. be physically fit and able to walk for long periods and work in all weather conditions
9. able to undertake a range of various labouring tasks involving bending, pulling, and lifting.
10. customer-focused and able to remain respectful, calm, and polite in environments where they may experience challenging behaviours or situations when assisting the general public and customers by responding to minor queries and complaints
In addition, you should have:
11. Knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace (incl. PPE)
12. Ability to operate basic hand and power tools
13. Able to work flexibly across any shift if necessary, with notice given
14. A minimum of a pre-97 or Category C manual driving licence
15. CPC training is desirable but not essential, as training will be given to the right candidate
We have 1 position to recruit to:
16. Monday to Thursday 06:00 am until 14:00 pm
17. Friday 06:00 am to 13:30 pm
