Job Details

* Job Title: Warehouse Team Manager
* Department: Warehouse Management
* Location: Belfast
* Reports To: Warehouse Operations Manager
* Days of Work: Sunday to Thursday
* Hours of Work: Sunday 08:00 – 14:00, Monday to Thursday 09:30 – 18:00 (Total 40 hrs per week)
* Salary: 36K to 38K (depending on experience)


Role Purpose

As a Warehouse Team Manager at Alliance Healthcare you will be leading an operational section of our business, overseeing the vast activity to ensure that we are meeting our customers' needs and driving operational excellence. You will be dedicated to ensuring your people are engaged and perform to the highest standards against set key performance indicators. You will act as an advocate of the Alliance Healthcare culture, values and safety standards. You will hold regular briefings and meetings with your team, keeping them engaged and updated on the operational requirements.


Role Responsibilities

* Understand and apply Good Distribution Practice of Medicinal Products for Human Use (2013/C 68/01) and other GDP training as required.
* Develop and implement an operational plan that drives standards and meets customer expectations.
* Align with wider business objectives to promote safety culture, reduce costs, and improve service.
* Investigate service or operational failures to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
* Lead best practice for safety and ensure team understands importance of workplace safety.
* Rapidly record and report safety incidents.
* Assist in recruitment of new colleagues following Alliance Healthcare values.
* Evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback for development.
* Create and execute the daily resourcing plan for optimal output.
* Deliver training on operational procedures, GDP and SOPs, with focus on housekeeping.
* Promote and lead our Leading Lights culture through leadership.
* Manage absence according to process, including return‑to‑work, investigations, and long‑term sickness.
* Support the Management Team in achieving departmental and company objectives.
* Perform reasonable requests from the Service Centre Management Team to promote initiatives.

* Complete 1‑to‑1s, PDRs and Appraisals with the team.

* Engage internal customers collaboratively to achieve operational excellence.
* Review processes and recommend improvements to meet customer requirements.

* Engage in Personal Development Plan discussions with line manager.
* Identify and develop talent within the team.

* Encourage two‑way feedback and support colleague forums and communication channels.
* Demonstrate competence in conflict management.

* Understand reporting and recording performance statistics.
* Have good computer and warehouse management system skills.
* Work collaboratively and support broader team goals.
* Ensure adoption and monitoring of company procedures, including GDP updates.

* Experience in people management, investigations and disciplinary processes.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong time‑management behaviours.
* Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel.
* Administrative capabilities (letter writing, minutes).

Additional Information

Flexibility will be required in relation to overtime, which may include weekends and bank holidays. This will be agreed with as much notice as possible, as per the Staff Handbook.
