The Role As an SEMH Teacher, you’ll be more than an educator—you’ll be a mentor, advocate, and steady influence. Your day-to-day will involve: Tailored Teaching: Planning creative and individualised lessons that meet each student’s learning needs and emotional development. Emotional Guidance: Building trusting relationships, providing calm consistency, and supporting students to manage their emotions and behaviour. Collaboration: Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and parents to create joined-up support plans. Monitoring Progress: Tracking each student’s academic and personal development, celebrating successes (big and small) along the way. Promoting Inclusion: Championing an inclusive, empathetic school culture where every learner feels safe and supported. What You’ll Need UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent. Proven experience teaching or supporting students with SEMH or additional needs. Strong communication skills and an unshakable sense of empathy and patience.
